Urban sprawl is the expansion of urban areas into rural land, threatening agricultural farms and countryside. This growth encroaches on farmland, leading to a significant loss of agricultural resources as cities expand, converting A-1 land into residential and commercial areas. This reduces available farmland and complicates farming operations.

Urban sprawl increases pollution from runoff and waste, harming soil and water quality vital for some forms of farming. It also raises property taxes and water competition, pressuring farmers to sell land for development.

As urban areas grow, conflicts arise between farmers and residents over noises and odors leading to regulations that restrict farming making it almost impossible. This underscores the need for planning and policies that balance urban growth with agricultural preservation, requiring collaboration for sustainable solutions that work for both sides.
